Pam Terminal
Terms of use

Last updated: 08/14/2026

  1. Introduction

    1.1 Who we are.

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of:

    • (a) the Pam Terminal websites, account console, licensing and billing tools, documentation, and related online services we operate at pamterminal.com and related domains (collectively, the “Site” or “Account Services”); and
    • (b) our self-hosted Pam Terminal privileged access management software, offline Docker packs, signed license keys, updates, and support that you order from us (the “Licensed Software”, and together with the Account Services, the “Services”).

Pam Terminal is designed primarily for self-hosted / on-premises deployment. Privileged sessions (for example SSH, RDP, VNC, or Telnet), screen recordings, credential vault data, and audit logs created by the Licensed Software remain in your environment and are not processed by Pam Terminal as a cloud control plane, unless you intentionally send materials to us (for example support diagnostics).

The Services are provided by Pam Terminal, the operator of pamterminal.com (“Company”, “Pam Terminal”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Contact: [email protected].

    1.2 Who you are.

“You” or “Customer” means any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

    1.3 Agreement to the Terms.

By accessing or using any part of the Services, creating an account, purchasing a license, downloading Licensed Software, or clicking “I agree” (or similar), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

Use of the Services is also conditioned on our Privacy Policy and, where we process personal data on your behalf, our Data Processing Addendum.

  2. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide reasonable notice by email, posting on the Site, or in-product notice. The “Last updated” date above shows when these Terms were last revised.

Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services and may close your account or decline renewal as applicable.

Order forms, quotes, invoices, and statements of work (“Order Documents”) are incorporated into these Terms. If there is a direct conflict between these Terms and a signed Order Document, the Order Document controls for that order.

  3. Translation

We may provide translations of these Terms for convenience. The English version governs, and any inconsistency will be resolved in favor of the English version.

  4. Service Availability

The Account Services (website, login, licensing portal, downloads) may be modified, updated, interrupted, suspended, or discontinued at any time. Except where a separate written SLA is signed by Pam Terminal, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, specific uptime percentages, or response times for the Account Services.

You acknowledge that Account Services may depend on networks, hosting providers, identity and payment providers, browsers, and other systems outside our control.

For Licensed Software deployed in your environment, you are responsible for infrastructure, networking, backups, identity providers, storage of recordings and logs, and operational uptime of your deployment. Pam Terminal does not operate your gateway or sessions unless expressly agreed in writing for a managed offering.

  5. Privacy Policy

Use of the Services is subject to our Privacy Policy, available at Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

Where Pam Terminal processes personal data on your behalf as a processor (for example support packages or diagnostics you submit), our DPA applies.

  6. Eligibility and Age

The Services are intended for business use by users at least eighteen (18) years of age. By using the Services you represent that you are at least 18, legally competent to contract, and not prohibited from receiving the Services under applicable law (including export control and sanctions rules).

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access if we determine that eligibility requirements are not met, including by disabling Site accounts.

  7. Intellectual Property

    7.1 Company Materials.

All rights, title, and interest in and to the Services—including software, documentation, designs, trademarks, websites, and related materials (collectively, “Company Materials”)—remain the exclusive property of Pam Terminal and its licensors. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

7.2 License to use Account Services.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Account Services for your internal business purposes related to evaluating, purchasing, activating, and managing Pam Terminal licenses.

    7.3 Restrictions.

Except as permitted by law or a written license from us, you may not: copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Company Materials; remove proprietary notices; share or circumvent license keys; or use Pam Terminal marks without prior written consent.

    7.4 Feedback.

If you provide suggestions or feedback, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free right to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

    7.5 Customer Content.

“Customer Content” means data, credentials metadata, asset inventories, session recordings, audit logs, configurations, support diagnostics, and other materials you or your users submit to or generate through the Services. You retain ownership of Customer Content.

For Licensed Software running in your environment, Customer Content remains under your control. You grant Pam Terminal a limited license to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Content that you submit to the Account Services (including support and diagnostics uploads) solely as needed to provide, secure, and support the Services.

  8. Accounts and Use of Account Services

    8.1 Account registration.

To use certain Account Services you need an account. Typical registration information includes work email, name, optional company name, and a password. You agree to provide accurate information, keep credentials confidential, and promptly update account details.

    8.2 Account responsibility.

You are responsible for all activity under your accounts and for ensuring that only authorized personnel access the Account Services. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use or security incident involving your account. We may disable accounts that pose a security or abuse risk.

    8.3 Permitted use.

You may use the Services only to manage privileged access to systems you own or are authorized to administer, and to manage related licenses and purchases, in compliance with applicable law and these Terms.

    8.4 Prohibited use.

You will not, and will not permit others to: (a) use the Services to gain unauthorized access to any system; (b) attack, scan, or disrupt third-party systems without authorization; (c) interfere with the security or integrity of the Services; (d) bypass license limits, rate limits, or access controls; (e) upload malware or unlawful content; (f) resell the Services except as expressly permitted in writing; or (g) use the Services in violation of export, sanctions, or cybersecurity laws.

8.5 Fair use and technical limits.

We may apply reasonable technical limits on Account Services (for example authentication attempts, downloads, API calls, or uploads). Excessive use that harms stability or security may result in throttling or suspension after notice where practicable.

  9. Licensed Software

    9.1 License grant.

Subject to payment of applicable fees and these Terms, Pam Terminal grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable fixed-term (term-based) license to install and run the Licensed Software in your own environment for the prepaid term stated in your order and within the capacity limits of your plan (for example operators, assets, or other entitlements stated in your Order Document). Unless an Order Document expressly states otherwise, licenses are not perpetual (not lifetime) and are limited to the purchased term.

    9.2 Deployment.

Licensed Software is delivered as offline Docker packs or similar packages via the Account Services after purchase or entitlement. You are responsible for deploying, configuring, hardening, backing up, and operating the software in your infrastructure, including databases, reverse proxies, storage for recordings, and network controls.

    9.3 License keys and activation.

Access to Licensed Software features may require a signed license key (including machine-bound keys). You may not share, forge, or circumvent license controls. License keys are confidential and may not be redistributed.

    9.4 Updates and support.

During an active paid term we may provide updates and support as described in your plan or Order Document, including published release packs for entitled accounts. We are not obligated to provide custom development unless agreed in writing.

    9.5 Offline and air-gapped use.

Where your plan supports offline or air-gapped deployment, you remain responsible for applying security updates according to our published guidance when connectivity allows or via approved update channels.

  10. Sessions, Credentials, and Customer Data

    10.1 Privileged sessions.

The Licensed Software enables browser-based or gateway-mediated sessions (such as SSH, RDP, VNC, or Telnet) to assets you configure in your deployment. You are solely responsible for which users receive access, which assets are reachable, and the privileges associated with those sessions.

    10.2 Recording and audit.

Session recording, live monitoring, clipboard/file-transfer controls, watermarks, and audit logs may be enabled according to your configuration and plan. You are responsible for informing your workforce and contractors as required by applicable law that sessions may be recorded and monitored, and for retaining or deleting recordings and logs in your environment.

    10.3 Credentials and secrets.

If you store credentials, SSH keys, or other secrets in the Licensed Software, you remain the controller of that information. You should use least privilege, rotate secrets, and restrict administrative access to vault features. Pam Terminal does not guarantee that any particular credential storage configuration will meet your compliance obligations.

    10.4 Self-hosted data residency.

Customer Content processed by Licensed Software in your environment is not transmitted to Pam Terminal unless you choose to send it. Pam Terminal receives Customer Content when you use Account Services features such as contact forms, support diagnostics uploads, license issuance emails, or other materials you submit.

  11. Fees, Payments, and Licenses

    11.1 Fees.

Fees are as stated on our pricing page, quote, checkout, or Order Document. Unless otherwise stated, you buy a one-time prepaid purchase for a fixed-term license for the term you select (or as stated in your Order Document), according to the plan and capacity you choose. You pay once for that term; you may use the Licensed Software for the purchased term; when the term ends the license ends; continuing requires purchasing a new license.

11.2 Merchant of record / payment processors.

Online payments are processed by our merchant of record / payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. Their terms apply to payment processing. Taxes may be collected as required. Official tax invoices may be issued through the payment provider after you supply required billing details.

    11.3 Refunds.

Unless required by law or expressly agreed in writing: (a) before a license key has been generated for an order, you may request a refund through the Account Services or payment provider flows we enable; and (b) after a license key has been generated for that purchase, fees are non-refundable. Chargebacks and payment disputes may result in suspension of licenses or Account Services. Details are in our Refund Policy.

    11.4 Renewals and term end.

Prepaid fixed-term licenses run only for the purchased term. They do not auto-renew. Without auto-renewal they are not a classic recurring subscription: when the term ends, the license ends, and you continue only by purchasing a new fixed-term license from Pricing or as stated in your Order Document. Expiration of a term may disable Licensed Software features until a new term is purchased.

    11.5 Plan changes.

Upgrades and capacity changes are handled as stated in your Order Document or Account Services. Exceeding plan limits may require an upgrade. Downgrades, if offered, take effect as stated for that order.

    11.6 Late payment and entitlement.

We may suspend Account Services downloads, license issuance, or related features for unpaid or reversed amounts after reasonable notice. You remain responsible for fees accrued prior to suspension or termination.

  12. Customer Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for: (a) lawful use of the Services; (b) obtaining rights to connect to target systems; (c) configuring access policies, MFA/IdP integrations, recording retention, and network exposure in your deployment; (d) securing your environment when self-hosting; (e) maintaining backups of configurations and recordings you need to retain; (f) complying with employment, privacy, and monitoring laws applicable to session recording; (g) reviewing support diagnostics before upload so that secrets are not unnecessarily shared; and (h) your users’ compliance with these Terms.

Pam Terminal does not provide legal advice. Using the Services does not guarantee compliance with any particular regulation (including SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or industry frameworks).

  13. Third-Party Services

The Services may integrate with or depend on identity providers, payment processors (including Lemon Squeezy), security services (such as reCAPTCHA), email delivery, hosting, browsers, and other third-party products. Your use of those products is governed by their terms. We are not responsible for third-party availability, security, or policy changes that affect integrations.

  14. Warranties and Limitation of Liability

    14.1 Disclaimer.

EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY STATED IN A SIGNED WRITTEN AGREEMENT, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR FREE OF SECURITY VULNERABILITIES.

    14.2 Limitation of liability.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PAM TERMINAL AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, COVER, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO PAM TERMINAL FOR THE SERVICES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

    14.3 Essential basis.

The limitations in this Section are a fundamental basis of the bargain between the parties.

  15. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify Pam Terminal against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) Customer Content; (b) your use of the Services in violation of these Terms or law; (c) unauthorized access you facilitate to third-party systems; or (d) disputes with your users or end customers related to session monitoring or access decisions.

  16. Term, Termination, and Suspension

These Terms remain in effect while you use the Services. Either party may terminate for material breach if the breach remains uncured thirty (30) days after written notice (or immediately for unpaid fees, security risk, or illegal use).

We may suspend Account Services or license entitlements immediately if necessary to protect the Services, other customers, or to comply with law. Upon termination of a license term, you must cease use of Licensed Software features that require an active license, except for archival copies required by law. Sections that by nature should survive (including IP, fees owed, disclaimers, limitations, and indemnity) will survive termination.

  17. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws specified in the applicable Order Document. If an Order Document does not specify governing law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the country where Pam Terminal operates its primary business for pamterminal.com, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing a claim, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve disputes informally for thirty (30) days after written notice. The competent courts for that place of business (or the forum named in the Order Document) have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections where applicable.

Nothing in these Terms limits either party’s right to seek injunctive relief for IP or security matters.

  18. Miscellaneous

    18.1 Entire agreement.

These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the DPA (when applicable), and any Order Documents constitute the entire agreement regarding the Services and supersede prior agreements on the same subject.

    18.2 Assignment.

You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

    18.3 Severability.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

    18.4 Force majeure.

Neither party is liable for delays or failures due to causes beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, labor disputes, internet or cloud outages, or government actions.

    18.5 Notices.

Notices to you may be sent by email or through the Account Services. Notices to Pam Terminal must be sent to [email protected].

    18.6 No waiver.

Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
